Cacao

Tsokolate is crafted from sustainably cultivated heirloom Criollo cacao, sourced from single origin farms in Peru. Our cacao thrives in its native environment, nurtured through sustainable agricultural methods that prioritise the well-being of farmers and their families. These practices are upheld by a cooperative of organic farmers who employ pesticide-free and chemical fertiliser-free organic farming techniques.

Our Roots

In the Philippines, the tradition of drinking tsokolate dates back to the pre-colonial era when cacao was cultivated and consumed by indigenous communities. The traditional preparation of tsokolate involves grinding roasted cacao beans and mixing the paste with sugar and sometimes spices. The resulting thick and rich chocolate drink is often served during special occasions and ceremonies. It became a symbol of hospitality and celebration, with variations in preparation methods across different regions of the country. Our connection with cacao started during childhood, growing up in the Philippines. Lola (grandmother) used to make tsokolate to go with our breakfast or mirienda (afternoon snack). From those early memories, a warm cup of cacao wasn’t just delicious but it was also a beloved ritual. A daily practice that nourished the body mind and spirit, one that many Filipinos can relate to.

Monk Fruit

Tsokolate is naturally sweetened with a certified organic, pure monk fruit juice powder. Monk fruit's delightful sweetness is a gift from nature, thanks to its natural antioxidants called 'mogrosides.' Hailing from the mystical mountains of China, where monks treasured it for centuries, Monk Fruit, also known as Luo Han Guo, was not just a fruit but a revered traditional Chinese medicine. These days it's valued as an ingredient in many products because it provides sweetness without the calories and potential blood sugar spikes associated with sugar.

A Delicious and Convenient Experience

I recently had the pleasure of trying Tsokolate Lola, and I have to say, it's a game-changer in the world of hot chocolate! What stood out to me the most was how easy it is to prepare and dose, all thanks to the tableya.

The tableya format makes it incredibly simple to measure the perfect amount for each cup of Tsokolate Lola. No more guessing, chopping or shaving blocks of cacao or fiddling with messy powders. Just choose the number of tableya according to your desired dose, add it to your milk or water, and enjoy a rich and satisfying cup of hot chocolate in minutes.

Not only is Tsokolate Lola convenient to prepare, but it also delivers a velvety smooth texture and authentic chocolate flavour that's hard to beat. Whether you're craving a comforting drink on a chilly evening or want to elevate your morning routine, Tsokolate Lola is the perfect choice.

Overall, I highly recommend Tsokolate Lola for its ease of preparation and awesome taste.

The best cacao ever!!!

This is the best cacao I have ever had. I used to struggle to take herbs because they don't taste great and I always would forget. It's so much easier not to mention way tastier to take my herbs with my daily cup of cacao. I chose the Lola blend because it has both Tulsi and Amla which are two powerful herbs that I wanted to incorporate into my diet. I love that this cacao comes in convenient 11 gram tablets which makes it really simple to dose. I blend up 3 tableya with a cup of hot water and a dash of maple syrup in my ninja and it comes out so creamy and velvety. Can't wait to try the other blends!

Creamiest cacao I've tried

Absolutely love Tsokolate! I usually have a cup of cacao to drink every morning but it's in powder form. Ceremonial cacao is much creamier and rich. I melt 3 tableya in a cup of oat milk over the stove and add a bit of coconut sugar, it's the best way to start the day along with my meditation practice.
