This recipe is our grown-up, ingredient-conscious take on the iconic choc-malt drink many of us remember from childhood. Creamy, cold, and deeply comforting, Iced Nostalgia with Honeycomb Cream delivers that familiar flavour profile, but reimagined with real, functional ingredients.

 

Instead of conventional malted chocolate powders, we use Nostalgia, our cacao-based blend made with ceremonial-grade cacao, maca, mesquite, and real vanilla. The result is rich and chocolatey with natural caramel notes, gentle sweetness, and a depth that feels indulgent yet nourishing.

 

To take it one step further, we top it with a light honeycomb cream and shards of homemade refined sugar-free honeycomb, bringing crunch, sweetness, and that unmistakable nostalgic magic.

✦ 22 g Nostalgia

✦ 100 ml hot water

iced milk

✦ Ice

✦ 250 ml cold plant milk of choice

honeycomb cream

✦ 30 ml vegan thickened plant cream

✦ 30 ml plant milk

✦  Crumbled refined sugar-free honeycomb (recipe below)

✦ Extra crumbled honeycomb

✦ 100 g coconut sugar

✦ 60 ml brown rice syrup

✦ 2 tbsp water

✦ 1½ tsp baking soda

method

make the nostalgia concentrate

✦ Add Nostalgia to a mug or small jug. Pour over hot water and whisk until completely smooth and glossy. Set aside.

prepare the glass:

✦ Fill a tall glass with ice. Pour in the cold milk.

layer the drink:

✦ Slowly pour the Nostalgia concentrate over the milk, allowing it to ripple and layer naturally.

make the honeycomb cream:

✦ In a small bowl or jug, combine the vegan thickened cream and plant milk. Lightly froth until softly aerated. Fold through crumbled honeycomb.

finish and serve:

✦ Spoon the honeycomb cream over the drink. Dust with extra Nostalgia and finish with more honeycomb crumble. Serve immediately and stir just before drinking.

making the honeycomb:

✦ Line a tray with baking paper and set aside.

✦ Add coconut sugar, brown rice syrup, and water to a saucepan.

✦ Heat gently, stirring until dissolved, then bring to a steady boil.

✦ Cook without stirring until the mixture reaches a deep amber colour (about 135–145°C if using a thermometer).

✦ Remove from heat and immediately whisk in baking soda. The mixture will foam rapidly.

✦ Pour onto the lined tray and leave untouched to cool completely.

✦ Once set, break into shards or crumble as needed.

✦ Store in an airtight container.
