Edition 25: Full Moon in Taurus - Hunter's Moon

October 27, 2026

Title

"This is also the Hunter's Moon, the full moon that follows the Harvest Moon. In the Northern Hemisphere, it was traditionally the moon that gave hunters enough light to continue working into the night, stocking up for the cold months ahead. Here in the Southern Hemisphere, we are coming into spring and the energy is different: we are building, not stockpiling. The Hunter's Moon for us is about intention backed by the body. What are you genuinely willing to work for? Not what you think you should want. What you feel in your bones is real."

The body knows what is real.

Not the mind's negotiation. Not the story you have rehearsed about why things are the way they are.

What you feel in your body, right now, about your life as it actually is. That is where this Full Moon is working.

🌕 The Full Moon In Taurus

The Full Moon in Taurus peaked yesterday afternoon at 3:12 pm AEDT, and its energy is fully alive. Full Moon energy works through us for two to three days either side of the peak, and this one carries particular weight. If you felt something shift today, or rise, or become suddenly, uncomfortably clear, that is this lunation doing what it came to do.

The Moon sits in Taurus at 2 degrees, directly opposite the Sun in Scorpio. This is the most fundamental polarity in the zodiac: earth and water, body and depth, the tangible world and the transformational one. Taurus says: stay here, feel what is real, trust what is solid. Scorpio says: go below the surface and find what is actually true. Together, they create a Full Moon that asks you to be honest about your life in the most embodied, immediate way possible.

This is also the Hunter's Moon, the full moon that follows the Harvest Moon. What you feel in your bones is real.

The Moon is conjunct Chiron retrograde in Aries. This is significant and tender. Chiron is the wounded healer, and in Aries, his wound is the wound of self-belonging: the question of whether you have the right to exist as you actually are, to take up space, to have your needs matter. With the Moon sitting directly on Chiron at this Full Moon, old wounds around self-worth, self-expression, visibility and belonging are rising to the surface. Not to reopen them. To illuminate what is ready to heal.

Pluto in Aquarius squares the Moon, adding intensity and depth. When Pluto is involved, things come to the surface that have been buried, and the invitation is always the same: stop avoiding it, look at it clearly, let it transform. The wounds and patterns Chiron is illuminating have Pluto's deep transformational energy behind them. What is being asked of you is not small. It is also not impossible.

Venus is retrograde in Libra, Mercury is retrograde in Scorpio. Both the planet of love and values and the planet of thought and communication have turned inward. This Full Moon is not a time for external action or big decisions. It is a time for deep internal review, for honestly reckoning with what you have been telling yourself about your worth, your relationships and what you deserve.

Venus opposite the Moon echoes this. The question at the heart of this lunation is deeply Venusian: do you actually believe you are worth loving as you are? Not when you are better, thinner, more successful, less complicated. As you are, right now.

The Sun in Scorpio formed an exact square with Pluto yesterday, its energy still very much present. Hidden matters come to the surface under Sun square Pluto. What has been pushed down or avoided becomes harder to ignore.

And yet there is support here too. Mars in Leo trines Saturn, echoing what built beneath the Libra New Moon earlier this month. Whatever courageous, honest, embodied intention you plant in the days after this Full Moon has structural support. The desire and the architecture are aligned.

The overall invitation of this lunation is simple, though not easy: come back into your body, feel what is actually there, and release what is no longer genuinely yours to carry.

Universal Thread

The question of inherent worth, the right to belong in your own body and life, is one that every wisdom tradition has had to reckon with.

In Buddhist philosophy, the concept of Buddha-nature holds that every sentient being already possesses the capacity for awakening. Not as a potential to be earned, but as an inherent quality that is simply obscured by conditioned layers of fear, habit and story. The practice is not to acquire something new. It is to release what is covering what was always there. The Taurus Full Moon, with its emphasis on embodied presence and the clearing of old patterns, carries this same essential message.

In the Maori tradition of New Zealand, the concept of Mana describes an inherent spiritual authority and worth that resides in every person from birth. It cannot be given or taken by others, though it can be obscured or diminished by choices made from disconnection. To live in alignment with one's Mana is to act from the deepest, most authentic centre of one's being. The Hunter's Moon, with its invitation to honest self-reckoning, resonates with this call.

The Stoic philosophers, particularly Epictetus, who was himself born into slavery, wrote at length about the distinction between what is truly ours and what is not. External things, reputation, others' opinions, even our circumstances, are not fully within our control. What is ours, always and completely, is our own capacity to choose how we respond, what we value, and what we allow to define us. Chiron's wound is precisely this: the mistaken belief that our worth depends on something outside ourselves.

In the African philosophical tradition of Sankofa, represented by a bird looking backward while flying forward, wisdom lies in returning to and learning from the past in order to move forward well. The image is not of avoidance but of honest retrieval. What is worth carrying from where you have been? What is ready to be put down? This is the Full Moon's question.

And in many Indigenous traditions of the Australian continent, the land itself is understood as body: sacred, alive, intelligent, worthy of reverence simply because it exists. The invitation to regard yourself with the same quality of reverence, that is the Taurus Full Moon speaking in the language of country.

Ritual Practice: Clear and Return

Embodied. Honest. Releasing.

1. Begin in the Body

Lie down or sit on the floor. Place both hands on your belly. Take five slow breaths and simply feel: what is alive in your body right now? Where are you holding tension? Where do you feel heavy? Where does something ache that is not purely physical? You do not need to interpret it. Just feel it.

2. Prepare Your Cacao

Prepare your Tsokolate Clarity slowly. As you stir, hold this Full Moon's question: what am I carrying that is not genuinely mine, and what do I know, in my body, is true?

3. The Two Questions (5 minutes)

Write your honest answers to just two questions:

  • Where in my life am I not treating myself as someone worthy of care? In my relationships, in my work, in how I speak about myself, in what I accept?
  • What have I known, in my body, for a long time, that I have not yet been willing to fully acknowledge?

No analysis. One honest paragraph for each. Let it be simple.

4. The Release

Hold in mind one thing you are genuinely ready to put down. A belief about your worth that was never true. A role you have been playing. A way of relating to yourself that came from someone else's story. Take a full, slow breath in. On the exhale, breathe it out of your body. Do this three times. You do not need to figure out where it goes.

5. The Harvest Sentence

Write one sentence beginning with: "What I am choosing to keep is..."

Not what you think you should choose. What you genuinely, in your body, want to carry forward.

6. Seal with Edible Alchemy

✦ Tsokolate Clarity infused with rosemary, gotu kola, bacopa/brahmi and ginkgo biloba. Rich dark ceremonial cacao that clears and focuses the mind. With Mercury retrograde in Scorpio turning thought inward, Chiron illuminating what has been unconscious, and Pluto bringing buried material to the surface, this Full Moon asks you to see clearly without spiralling. Rosemary supports mental alertness and memory, helping you stay grounded in the present moment of the ritual rather than lost in old stories. Gotu kola and bacopa/brahmi are both traditional nootropic and nervous system tonics, calming the mind while sharpening its focus. Ginkgo biloba supports circulation and cognitive clarity, grounding the mental body in the physical, which is exactly the Taurus invitation: think less, feel more, see clearly. Sip this first, slowly. Create the clear, calm inner environment from which honest seeing becomes possible.

✦ Grounding Chocolate spiced macadamia praline with gingersnap biscuit in 65% dark chocolate, infused with ginger and dandelion. Root Chakra support. Taurus is the most embodied of all the earth signs. The Root Chakra governs safety, belonging, and our felt sense of being held by the earth. When old wounds around belonging rise through Chiron's influence, the Root Chakra needs support. Ginger supports circulation and physical warmth, keeping you present in your own skin. Dandelion supports the body's natural release, honouring the Full Moon's call to let go through the physical body rather than only the mind.

✦ Power Chocolate toasted coconut butter with golden turmeric caramel in 65% dark chocolate, infused with turmeric, Siberian ginseng and cinnamon. Solar Plexus Chakra support. Chiron's wound in Aries and Pluto's square are asking a profound question about personal power and self-worth. The Solar Plexus is the seat of that worth, of the will that belongs entirely to you, of the inner fire of knowing you have the right to be here as you are. Turmeric is deeply anti-inflammatory, supporting the body through the stress of intense emotional clearing. Siberian ginseng builds the resilience and endurance to meet difficult truths without collapsing. Cinnamon sparks the inner fire of genuinely choosing yourself

Savour slowly. Let each taste support the work.

Edible Alchemy for the full moon & lunar eclipse

✦ Tsokolate Clarity meets the specific demand of Mercury retrograde in Scorpio combined with Chiron and Pluto's joint illumination. When the mind is swirling with old wounds, buried patterns and the intensity of deep psychic material rising to the surface, what is needed is not more stimulation but clear, focused presence. Rosemary, gotu kola, bacopa/brahmi and ginkgo biloba work together to calm and focus the mind simultaneously, supporting the kind of honest seeing that this Full Moon requires: still enough to feel, clear enough to distinguish genuine knowing from habitual story.

✦ Grounding Chocolate honours the deepest truth of Taurus: that healing happens in and through the body. When the Root Chakra is supported, we feel held. When we feel held, we can release what we no longer need to grip onto. Ginger and dandelion work in the body's most physical systems, helping the clearing process move through the physical body as well as the emotional and mental layers.

✦ Power Chocolate responds directly to Chiron and Pluto's joint invitation. Chiron illuminates the wound of feeling unworthy of space and love. Pluto provides the transformational energy to genuinely change it. The Solar Plexus is where that transformation is seated: in the gut, in the will, in the felt sense of one's own authority over one's own life. Turmeric, Siberian ginseng and cinnamon together support the physical body through what is genuinely a significant moment of reckoning.

The Days Ahead

The Full Moon energy remains potent through Wednesday 29 October. But the wider energies of this window continue to build:

28 October: Venus opposite Chiron. The wound around self-worth and relationship becomes tender and visible. Be gentle with yourself and others. What surfaces today is seeking acknowledgement, not analysis.

29 October: Moon enters Cancer, the sign of home, nourishment and deep feeling. A beautiful time for self-care, rest and being with people you trust.

30 October: Mercury in Scorpio squares Mars in Leo. Tension between what you are thinking and what you want to do. Pause before reacting. This aspect has heat in it, and the retrograde slows it toward reflection rather than action.

Venus and Mercury remain retrograde until 13 November. The deep internal review this Full Moon initiates is not a single session. It is a fortnight of honest excavation. Trust the process.

Spring building in the Southern Hemisphere: as October moves into November, the light and warmth continue to build. What you release at this Full Moon creates room for what is genuinely yours to grow in the season ahead.

Closing Reflection

The Hunter's Moon does not ask you to hunt in the sense of pursuit. It asks you to be honest about what you are genuinely willing to work for, what you are genuinely willing to put down, and what light you are going to carry into the season ahead.

The wound that Chiron illuminates at this Full Moon is ancient and common and tender. It is the belief, lodged somewhere in the body, that your worth is something to be earned or proven rather than something that was yours from the beginning.

It was never true. It was a story that came from somewhere, and like all stories, it can be examined, acknowledged, and eventually released.

The body knows this. When you are quiet enough, you can feel it: the steadiness beneath the wound. The ground that was always there. Taurus is that ground. You are that ground.

Come back into your body. Feel what is real. Release what is not yours.

Your Ritual Awaits.
